General Appointment Questions & Booking Concerns
-
A — In general, you should hear back within 5 - 7 days to start a conversation.
Once you have an initial response, expect a 48-72 hrs response time for follow-ups (peak times may increase the duration).
Don’t forget to check SPAM FOLDERS!! -
A — No, no you should not. :)
To ensure timely processing, please submit an appointment request from my website directly.
Sending another booking request through XYZ platform *will not* jump your place in line. -
A — Please keep in mind that we tend to ask very specific questions, and multiple Q’s — if you miss one of those answers, or take an inordinate amount of time to respond, your place in line will also change. We handle replies in chronologic order - first in, first out.
CHECK your Spam Folder!
CHECK other email addresses! If still no response and it is beyond 10 business days, feel free to email r3droguetattoos@gmail.com

A —We are mixing things up!
The plan is to ‘open books’ periodically - and close them after slices of the calendar are booked up.
While we have maintained an “always open books” policy, the next few years will bring much change, and we need more space for planning, coordination and execution — expect a fun few years to flow from these changes!! -
A — You should have received an automated response, it will have info about how to convert your request into a wait list request — keep in mind, you will need to opt-in and confirm your request like any other regular request once the BOOKING WINDOW OPENS!
-
A — A deposit is a non-refundable payment made to hold a spot on the books. This deposit guarantees the time on this date - it also may represent any amount of work creating the design, drawing, research, etc. — As such, they are always nonrefundable.
That said, the deposit is just that — a prepayment towards services that will be applied towards the final pricing at completion of project — on single session tattoos, it will be applied at end of session. (IE - multi-session work will hold the deposit until work is completed). -
A — Yes, deposits are mandatory, they represent your ‘skin in the game’ — and make your project request manifest.
Deposits will be forfeit in the case of:
-Client No Call/No Shows the appt,
-Client is greater than 30 minutes late,
-Client reschedules with less than 72 Hrs notice,
-Client cancels project outright.Reschedules with appropriate notice (greater than 3 days/72 Hrs) will be honored one time. Re-Reschedules will require new deposit.

A — Welp, long story short, a pair of silly clients didn’t call to cancel their consults at the end of a day and I waited around for 2 hours for no-one… talk about getting ghosted…
I keed, but in all seriousness, time is money, and when we slice a segment of calendar out for a specific client, it means we can focus our attention on their needs. As such, this deposit is a pre-payment to the final goal, your SICK TATTOO, MAN!!
VERY occasionally, we will make the call to book a consultation with no deposit, this is in very rare circumstances — maybe a handful of times per year.
For example:
—a large, complicated project request
—very difficult scar tissue or old tattoo cover-up
—something that is a large stylistic departure from Brett’s styleThese clients will specifically be told that they do not require a deposit — which typically comes with the caveat that at this point, Brett is not 100% sold on accepting your request as the artist.
A bit about getting tattooed by you, Brett…?

A — Your design will be drawn within the 48 hrs prior to your appointment. This allows my work to be the latest version of my work - and keeps me fresh on a lot of what the short hand in my drawings means in regards to your project.
Your project is important — but we do not do a back and forth design/edit process… This is where your request and/or consultation, notes, and photo references are going to come into play… We ask specific questions to draw it properly the first time.
You will see your design before we begin work, but full-renders are not something produced for tattoo work.
In very rare circumstances, the drawing does not turn the way the client likes — may require a reschedule. -
A — A lot of shit talk… i run my mouth almost the entire I tattoo… I’ll probably talk your ear off, but don’t worry, some folks say it distracts them from all of the poking I’m doing to their skin.
But for real, it’s going to hurt. It always does… how much that will be, you can do research on, but always assume it is going to hurt.
You’ll come in, I’ll show you your design/make any necessary tweaks, print it, size it, stencil it… prepare your skin, get it stencilized onto your flesh, give you the opportunity to check it out in the mirror , etc.
Then, I’ll grab whatever potions, lotions, needles I need and we’re off to the races. I have ADHD and cannot imagine blasting your skin for 8 hours straight, we do take breaks, but I aim to hit certain logical stopping points (like finishing linework/shading/etc).
I am also human and love food and coffee, so breaks are vital. As such, if you are getting tattooed, bring a snack, fluids, maybe headphones if you think you’ll want them, wear comfortable clothing/shoes (don’t wear all white!! and don’t wear tight clothing that prevent your skin being exposed)… If your phone is chronically on red or yellow battery, bring your own charger — I am on Android. -
A — I have a few drop down options… so I made links to a gallery to show off the differences

A — My guy, I thought you’d never ask!! I surely do, but most of it is in a sketch book… You could always book a “RED BOOK Consult” to see the stack of stuff and get a conversation rolling!
Archive of my original slash and flash designs — Visions of thee ACIDPUNK
Feel free to book a FLASH Consult to see works in person! -
A — My guy, I thought you’d never ask!! Haha…
In no particular order:
—snakes, snails, spiders, slugs, skulls, swords, maces, medieval weapons, armor, insects, weirdo things like aliens, strange trippy characters (like Killer Acid)… Sure we love the occasional flower. Dragons, dinosaurs, fun stuff that has a unique skin presence… I am open to all kinds of ideas. Portals into other weird wolds.I do enjoy the more neo-trad style of neo-japanese work, more neo-trad styles in general, and even my more recent illustrative work.

It didn’t work…
I have to replicate the photos, it’ll take some time. Feel free to croll through my insta history until January of 2020 and you’ll find the whole pile (or you can see them in person during a FLASH or RED BOOK Consult!
What to Expect during the HEALING process…

Wear the Bandage for 1-4 days.
The bandage may be removed sooner if it begins to expose tattoo or fall off — follow regular aftercare.Remove bandage by getting area warm, wet and soapy in the shower.
The bandage should be removed slowly. Once fully removed, using the same unscented soap and your fingertips, gently wash the entire bandaged area thoroughly, removing bandaging adhesive from skin.
Remove entire human from shower and dry off tattooed area with a CLEAN disposable paper towel by lightly dabbing or patting the area dry. (NO wiping!)
Allow area to air-dry for 10 - 15 minutes and then apply a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny amount of an unscented lotion of your choice… (more below) -
A— Your tattoo will require a small amount of lotion depending on the size/location/design.
Work with more saturation (be it color, or large solid areas) will tend to be thirstier and will also peel and shed more than a fine line tattoo with minimal shading, for instance.Ideally, If I see you walking down the street a few days after your bandage comes off, I should not be able to tell you have lotion on. Your tattoo should have a matte appearance, not a high-gloss sheen like a magazine cover.
-
A— Apply lotion once, twice, three times a day — there is no exact amount — but we don’t need to create a regimen, either.
In general, a small amount of lotion, massaged into the skin for 30 - 60 seconds will suffice. Be sure to lightly pat the moisturized area with a CLEAN disposable paper towel to remove any excess lotion.
YOUR TATTOO SHOULD NOT:
—Have the appearance of being wet
—Be greasy, oily to the touch
—Impossible to see under the lotion (you’d be surprised how often I have heard this story)**Keep the lotion scant, your skin needs a little help since we tickled it with so many needling passes.
-
A—Your skin will go through a healing process for the first 30 days or so, at least in terms of aftercare. Tattoos will continue to settle into the skin for the next few months/years.
During the first few weeks, it is important to avoid SOAKING or SUNNING your skin — Sunlight and Water will do the MOST DAMAGE to your skin (so will fire, but that was never not a thing).
While healing your tattoo AVOID:
—Soaking, submerging your tattoo [No pools, hot tubs, saunas, long showers, baths, etc.]
—Avoid Tanning Beds & Sunning
—Picking/scratching tattooStay Hydrated and look after your tattoo those first few weeks! It’s pretty critical to a successful outcome!

Your package should take 2 - 3 days to ship from my inventory, unless I;m out of town. Which I probably tried to let you know about… Sometimes my humanity means I mess up, so cut me some slack. ;)
If you haven’t heard anything about your order and it has been more than 10 days, feel free to shoot me an email over to r3droguetattos@gmail.com

As often as No Call No Shows ruin my plans for the day… last minute cancels happen, etc… Sometimes it may be a few a week, other times — it may not be for weeks on end.
The functionality of this will be similar to how I have used my Instagram Stories in the past to solicit same day appointments. The issue is Insta does not keep things in a chronological fashion, so it gets chaotic. Email handles this a bit more ably.First Come / First Served.
